About Sixteen Across
Sixteen Across was part of a PhD thesis for the creative writing programme at Adelaide University. (The other part was an essay dealing with online fiction, particularly what the transition from online to offline fiction or vice versa demonstrates about the medium, so if you have fiction online and feel like talking about it — particularly if it's also appeared offline in any form — do write to me at holly@16across.com. Or if you want to sell me the Genu1ne Uni/ersity degree I've ALWAYS WAN'TED.)
All of the stories are set in Adelaide, in a crossword grid approximating the city centre, with each story taking place in a location which corresponds to its position on the grid. However, none of the answers depend on a knowledge of Adelaide.
There isn't an exciting prize for being among the first to get them all right; there is, however, a dull one, a physical version of the forty-first story (this story will only be available when all forty clues have been posted, and only to readers who have solved the puzzle).
Sixteen Across is by Holly Gramazio; more here.
